Nicolas Pellerin aka The Sonixx is an electronic music artist from Montreal, Canada. Growing up, his interest was however much more towards video games and computer programming than making music. All of this changed when he got a hold of a program called Fruity Loops.
His latest single, ‘You Don’t Like Me’, which features female vocalist Laura Newman, combines dubstep with indie vocals, creating a much more mellow vibe than his usual productions. A video for the track was also shot and is available on Youtube.
The Sonixx’s remixes have been featured multiple times in the Top 10 of the popular blog aggregator Hype Machine. His recent remix of SOFI - Bring Out The Devil caught the attention of Scott Vener (Music supervisor for Entourage, How To Make It In America, etc) who featured it on his blog, as well as SOFI herself, who went on to post it to her own Soundcloud.
A 3 track EP is currently in the works and should be released by late March. Besides original tracks, The Sonixx is always working on new remixes and production for other artists. Expect a lot of new music to come out in 2012.
